Sometimes people ask me why a blog, and I tell them that it is a great way to not only express yourself, but also to let people know what you are about, and to make some friends online you might have never gained in the real world.

Washing clothes too late is a pain

Author: | Files under Life

One thing I would recommend to anyone out there is not to wait till the last minute to wash clothes. When you have so many loads and it takes hours to do them, then you know you have waited until you have absolutely nothing left, which is a bad idea.

Procrastination in general is a big problem with todays society, and this is just one small example. What about the larger things that never get done in the corporate world just because of someone putting something off till it can’t be put off anymore? One of the biggest things I have noticed with a potential employer s that they say they will get back with you, or they will get you working soon, but time just goes by. Its because they are busy and they hate paperwork and hiring people. Thats where your persistence can really pay off if you keep bothering them about the job. It helps them to remember you are still there and waiting.

Plastic surgery gone wrong

Author: | Files under Funny

One thing I have never been a big fan of is plastic surgery. I guess because I think life should take its natural course. There are so many people though that get plastic surgery everyday including Rhinoplasty of the nose to breast augmentation. I think its mostly people with serious insecurities. Recently I joined a forum and came across some of the celebs who had what I would call plastic surgery mistakes with horrible results. I mean why pay all this money just to look uglier and grosser in the end?

So I told myself the women I marry will never have plastic surgery. If you can’t love someone the way they are then you really don’t love them. At least thats my philosophy on it. Plus with my photography I prefer to have things look as natural as possible. Artificial sweeteners as I call them just don’t cut it for me. Anyways the whole plastic surgery thing gave me a laugh when I looked up each of those celebs on the list so I though I would share with you guys.

Xishuipo Mosaics in Puyang, China - a project by Serge

Author: | Files under Art

When was the last time you had an Art history project? There are some absolutely amazing artists who built up a name for themselves over the years. Some of the artists that come to my mind are Leonardo and Michaelangelo. But there are yet others who were not so famous that did some amazing things.

What about guys like Andy Warhol who have an interesting style in art. Some of his brightest pieces of artwork reflect liveliness and laughter.

Then you have those like Sandro Botticelli who was trained by Filippo Lippi, but became greater with his artwork of linear pieces.

One of the things I have been working on is studying the 4000 BC Astronomical mosaics of the Dragon and Tiger flanked. Its a male burial 1921 First excavation of Yangshao culture villages. The previous 1987 Excavated tomb was a success, and now it is being documented and illustrated by me.

Father is tired of Cutting the Lawn

Author: | Files under stuff

Well, I thought I would never see the day, but I got a phone call from my mother about my fathers health. Apparently all the hard work he has been doing lately has been catching up with him. For those of you that don’t know, we have a huge lawn, and my father really pushes himself to keep up with it, but now it looks like he threw in the towel.

He said he hired a company to now do the lawn care and maintenance of the shrubbery. This is the first time I have ever heard of his approval of a lawn care company so I thought this would make a funny post about it and razz him a little. Pops if you are reading this one, I’m proud you actually recognize you are human. :)

Photo Club of The Art Institute of Washington

Author: | Files under stuff

The AIW photo club website looks to be down, I’m actually thinking about starting a new photo club myself. Have you ever heard the saying a picture is worth a thousand words? Well if I might add that technique is worth a thousand views. People often forget how many times its a look we add or an infraction of light that is added or taken away which gives a totally different concept or view to a photo.

The conclusion of the matter is, if you have a great variety of photographers, you have a great variety of techniques. This can often wear off on the group and allow everyone to add to their methods to build an even greater portfolio of techniques and methods to almost become like a hybrid photographer.

Theres my 2 cents of philosophy on a group of photographers. Call me crazy, but I love it!
